"Good Evening, Good Night" ("Guten Abend, Gut' Nacht"), probably the most beautiful of all lullabies, can be heard from this top-shaped music box. Johannes Brahms composed the famous melody in 1868 to mark the birth of his son Hans. The case of the music box is turned from solid beech wood and then waxed.
The melody is played by a mechanical movement with 18 voices. It is made in the Black Forest, Germany, and proves its first-class quality already with the gentle and steady rattling of the winding-up mechanism. The wood for the housing comes from regional German forestry.
The music box comes in a beautiful gift box.
