Modulon – Original Construction Game by Naef, made of Wood

The Naef game Modulon celebrates the Golden Ratio with this artistic set of sixteen hand-cut building blocks with six different masses. Their side lengths correlate with each other in the Golden Ratio known from painting, which fascinates artists and mathematicians alike.

In mathematics, two quantities are in the golden ratio if their ratio is the same as the ratio of their sum to the larger of the two quantities.

The building blocks come assembled as a perfect cube in a valuable wooden box with a sliding lid. When playfully experimenting with Lithos, the abstract logic of the Golden Ratio becomes an immediate creative experience. The well thought-out color scheme also plays a role here, which immediately makes us think of the constructivist Piet Mondrian.

The fascinating structures are possible thanks to the precise workmanship of the wooden building blocks. Naef toys are handcrafted in small numbers and undergo a level of care rarely found with other manufacturers when it comes to cutting and hand-sanding the wood, which comes from sustainable Central European timber farming. Naef, a traditional manufacturer based in Switzerland, has its construction games produced in a Bavarian craftsman's workshop. Here, quality takes precedence over quantity, which is why some games are only available about once a year and then quickly go out of stock. We try to keep as many games as possible in stock.
