Art Mobile "Bauhaus" referencing Kandinsky (two sizes)
Three basic shapes, three basic colours: circle, square and triangle in blue, red and yellow - these are the ingredients of the Bauhaus mobile, designed by Flensted for the Bauhaus museum of Weimar.
The Bauhaus mobile refers to Wassily Kandinsky and his synesthetical approach. According to him there is a conjunction of colours, shapes and feelings: Blue is asscociated with a circle and stands for the cold, calm, supernatural and infinite. Yellow is the colour of the triangle and represents the warm, earthly, eccentric and even aggressive energy. The square is being defined as red which is also connected to certain musical sounds like the horn fanfare.
However the Bauhaus mobile makes a great impression even without the theoretical background. It is made of wood and polypropylene and comes in two sizes:
The Bauhaus mobile is being delivered in a nice cardboard box. The coloured elements need to be put on the beams, apart from that everything comes mounted and balanced, ready for use.
