(X) Finnish Woven Bicolor Blanket Petrol Blue / Green made of Mohair & Wool
Two colours and two natural fibres combine in this Finnish blanket in a contrast that is as delicate as it is appealing, created by the prize-winning textile designer Elina Helenius. The blanket is woven from mohair – the hair of the Angora goat – and pure sheep's wool.
Optionally, we can supply the blanket with a mohair brush which can be used to maintain the blanket's wonderfully soft texture – please also note the care instructions below.
This blanket is available in other colour combinations – see below.
The manufacturer Lapuan Kankurit operates its own weaving mill in Finland. The natural fibre mohair from the hair of the Angora goat comes from a certified supplier in South Africa. The pure sheep's wool for this blanket comes from certified spinning mills in New Zealand. The threads are spun and dyed in Europe in accordance with the European REACH directives, which regulate the use of chemicals. Lapuan Kankurit blankets also meet the ÖkoTex standard. The blankets are manufactured partly in the weaving mill in Finland and partly in an affiliated factory in Lithuania.
Care instructions:
Mohair blankets need brushing once in a while. Brush the blanket gently with a fabric brush (optionally included), following the grain of the wool.
Only wash the blanket if it is very dirty, otherwise take textile outdoors in fresh air for a while.
If blanket is extremely dirty, hand wash at max. 30°C or dry clean. If using powder detergent, dissolve it in plenty of water. Immerse the blanket in the water and wash immediately. Squeeze gently. Do not scrub, stretch or wring out. Rinse thoroughly and squeeze out most of the water. Press the blanket between towels until half-dry and leave it to dry in an airy space. Do not tumble dry. Iron with a damp cloth, max. 150°C.
