This small safe made of birch wood is not only decorative, but also fully functional. Composed of 225 parts, the safe has a real combination lock that works with a combination of three freely selectable numbers. If you set these correctly, the door opens automatically. When you close it again, it locks itself at the same time. If you forget the combination of numbers, there is a secret way (described in the instructions) to open the safe anyway.
With the construction kit, the sophisticated technology of the combination lock can be experienced in all its fascination, which is why it will delight future and experienced engineers alike. Additional creative potential lies in painting the parts of the model in colour.
Until the many cogwheels and other moving parts mesh perfectly, a construction time of about four hours should be planned. Since patience and dexterity are required, the model is recommended for ages 14 and up.
The wooden elements of the kit are made of birch wood from sustainable cultivation. A laser cuts them exactly into shape. No glue is needed to assemble the model. Detailed instructions are included.
