Please note that this kit comes with a German manual only. There is no English version.
With this kit you can explore the functioning of a theremin and assemble a simple playable instrument. This is not only an interesting activity for the whole family, but also an educational walk into the early days of electronic sound production. The kit contains a pre-assembled circuit board and all other required components, some of which are soldered, but most are simply plugged together and bolted.Note: The Theremin case is a cardboard box with a volume knob on top. Not real, but imprinted are the wood grain and the three rotary switches on the front.
The theremin is one of the most endearing and unique footnotes in music history. It may be the only musical instrument in the world that you play without touching it. The Theremin contains an electronic tone generator whose pitch is changed by moving the playing hand towards or away from the Theremin's antenna. Since the 1930s the theremin has been used for futuristic sounds in science-fiction movies and it had its biggest appearance in the theme music of Star Trek, followed by a crucial role in the giant hit "Good Vibrations" of the Beach Boys. Thanks to its intuitive operation, the Theremin can also be played by children.
The kit comes with a step-by-step guide and a beautifully designed manual that provides information on the history and functioning of the Theremin.
ATTENTION: This kit is not a toy for small and recommended for 14 years and older.
NOTE FOR PEOPLE WITH PACEMAKER: The Theremin works with electromagnetic radiation that may negatively impact pacemakers. Therefore, pacemaker patients must keep their distance from this device for the sake of their health and safety.
