Cushion sleeves with artistic motifs, made of various materials

Of course you can safely take your sofa nap on these decorative pillows. In the rest of the time, however, they lighten up the room as colorfully as a painting on the wall or a flowering plant. You can count on the first-class quality of both the natural fibers used (cotton, linen, silk) and the craftsmanship (printing, weaving).

About the artist

Born in 1970, Klaus Haapaniemi has come a long way since graduating as a graphic designer at the Institute of Design in Lahti. He worked as a creative director for the Italian fashion label Bantam, designed textile prints for well-known companies such as Dolce & Gabbana, Levi's, Cacharel and Diesel as well as a popular tableware collection. He illustrated magazines, published a book and designed the costumes for a show at the Finnish National Opera. Having already been named Finland's Designer of the Year in 2008, he now has an excellent international reputation, traveling fromhis residency in London to numerous projects throughout the world.
In 2010, Haapaniemi founded his own label (named after himself), which focuses on textiles in the typical Haapaniemi style. Only high-quality natural fibers are being manufactured in first-class quality and thus build a bridge between tradition and modernity.
Haapaniemi's style has nothing to do with the functional minimalism we usually associate with Scandinavian design. Instead he creates complex, imaginative and playful images and ornaments in bright contrasting colors, mostly inspired by Finnish folk art and the abundance of colors and forms of wild nature. Instead of diminishing and trivializing it, he shows us a fascinated and respectful perspective on the beauty of flora and fauna.
