Decorative Cushions

We gladly present the unmistakable cushion collection of Klaus Haapaniemi here in our shop. Born in Finland and living in London, the designer has made a global name for himself with his very own and unique style, building a bridge between traditional Finnish folk art and contemporary design.

The cushions made of linen, silk and cotton - mostly in the sofa cushion format - are characterized by intense bright prints and elaborate embroidery. They manage to translate naturalistic motifs with as much love as respect into fascinating, psychedelic and sometimes downright mythical imagery – without ever getting all too serious about it.

British textiles have always been characterized by the muted colors of the island’s nature and its harsh climate. The small label Chalk continues this tradition with fresh and contemporary weaving patterns and uses only soft merino lambswool for its collection of sofa cushions which is being hand-woven on traditional looms.

The wool cushions can be ordered with or without filling. On request, special sizes are availabe.

Throws

Matching the sofa cushions of the English label Chalk, there is their collection of throws which are also woven traditionally from 100% merino lambswool. The blankets are available in two standard sizes of 185 or 250 centimeters in length. Bespoke sizes can be delivered by request.
