Art Print Poster Roseate Spoonbill
The Roseate Spoonbill likes it warm: After spending the summer in the Florida everglades he will move to South America in the winter time. This restored illustration is more than a hundred years old and surprinsingly the bird is better off today. Back then he was expecting extinction but nowadays this Spoonbill is not anymore endangered.
Artist and master of library and information science Henrik Dybdahl digitalizes and restores images from old early 19th century school books. He re-arranges these depictions of plants and animals to large high quality poster prints which appear as old and new at the same time. Also they make us aware of how our perception has changed: while back then flora and fauna were recognised as an endless supply of resources (and exotic adventure stories) we see today a fragile eco-system inhabited by endangered species.
This poster is designed, printed and manually cut in Dybdahl's studio outside of Copenhagen. The print uses high grade japanese archival ink and enhanced matte paper to ensure the brillance of the print for many decades to come.
You may order this poster along with a magnetic frame made of oak wood. Two pairs of bars (for the upper and lower margin of the poster) are kept together magnetically, spreading out the hanging poster without causing damage.
By request this poster is available in other sizes - please get in touch.
