An art object that blends into the everyday in perfect harmony: When laid out flat, the wooden rug "Ashdown" already offers a friendly, bright and impressively plastic play of shapes and colors. When folded up, it transforms into a fascinating three-dimensional sculpture of surreal beauty. The resulting polygons are reminiscent of digitally created objects, providing an exciting contrast to the organic material.
The rug is made of oak, maple and beech (veneer wood, oiled). The elements are applied to a blue-gray cloth of linen which finishes with long fringes at the top and bottom.
The wooden rug is an invention of award-winning designer Elisa Strozyk from Berlin. It is being manufactured in Germany by the interior and furniture company Böwe which is family-run in the fourth generation.
Size: 152 x 87 cm (not counting the fringes)
